Brief today, no homework, between hosting a July 4th Barbeque last night, watching the fireworks from the Promenade – they really lit it up big time, incredible – and the tall ships. I wondered if we would get drones, but they went with the big artillery. At one point the Brooklyn Bridge was a cascading flow of white fire into the water below. The bonus of the tall ship show yesterday morning offset the catastrophe. …

Goodness me, In the dust storm of Middle East War, today’s news of an anti-corruption purge in Iraq is the latest volatility, never mind the ships being attacked. But I didn’t get too far with that, given like everything else down there, nobody really knows what is happening. Brrr, It’s absolutely freezing here in New York city, the ruddy East River has only frozen (see above) and the streets are a bleached hellscape of black-iced pavements walled by dirty ice-snow piles topped with backed up garbage and passing dogs.
